Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reporting and analysis for senior leadership.
Ensure compliance with CRA and IRS regulations, including filings for HST/GST, commodity tax, and other statutory requirements.
Build and implement accounting systems, policies, and controls to drive efficiency and scalability.
Monitor cash flow and manage all budgeting and forecasting processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
Identify and pursue grants, subsidies, and funding opportunities.
Support year-end audits and tax planning with external accountants.
Stay current on accounting standards and ensure internal practices align with evolving regulations.
Develop and lead the future finance team as the company grows.
What We're Looking For
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required); Master's degree an asset.
Designations:
CPA, CA, or CMA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. accounting practices, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and processes.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for growth, innovation, and building high-performing teams.
Why Join Us?
This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll have full ownership of the finance function, a seat at the leadership table, and the chance to shape the next phase of our company's success.
