Their warehouse experts work with customers to understand challenges and goals, developing a recommendation thats aligned to the customers business objectives and supply chain initiatives.Playing a key leadership role in the Finance team, the Controller will be responsible for all aspects of Finance Operations, Financial Reporting and Tax compliance. This includes overseeing the full accounting cycle, liaising with external auditors, the preparation of the standalone and consolidated financial statements, ensuring the financial control environment, and handling regular tax filings.

• The ideal candidate enjoys process optimization both through continuous improvement and via overhaul & change management and has an appetite for system design and architecture.

% Description
20% Maintenance of Accounting cycle

• Owner of Month-end close process
• Optimization of ME process to <= 5 days
• Coordination of AR, AP, Payroll activities

10% Financial Reporting

• Preparation of monthly internal financial reports
• Quarterly financial reporting to banks
• Primary point of contact of YE audit
• Preparation of financial statements (standalone & consolidated)

20% Finance Operations & Process Optimization

• Accountable for maximizing the value of the ERP (Netsuite)
• Development and implementation of roadmap of process improvements required in ERP
• Overhaul of HR on/offboarding process x Payroll x Timesheets process
• Overhaul of Order to Cash process

10% Tax Compliance & Optimization

• Facilitation of income tax returns preparation by 3rd party (USA & CAD)
• Regular (sales, VAT) tax filings
• Monitoring Nexus in USA; optimizing sales tax process in USA
• Transfer pricing: management fees & royalties
• Maximization of SR&ED credits; identification of any other tax credit/government grant opportunities (USA & CAD)

20% Cash Management & Forecasting

• Cash Management reporting and metrics, monthly
• Development of 13 week rolling CF forecast
• Implementation of any AP/Billing & Collections improvements as required
• FX reporting and development of strategies to minimize FX impact through partnering with the business

10% Ad-hoc projects

• In collaboration with VP Finance or other SLT members

• Direct: 3 (N-1)
• Indirect: 2 (N-2)

Salary range: $135k-$150k + 10% bonus

• This is a full-time position based in Montreal, hybrid (1-2 days in office), reporting to the VP Finance/CFO.

Requirements

• 10 + years in Finance at an SME; 3-5 years in fast-paced, high-growth scale-ups
• Experience building high-performing teams
• Experience in multi-companies, multi-currencies & multi-countries organization
• Solid knowledge of the accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE)
• Highly proficient in Excel, experience rolling out visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Domo) a plus
• Experience with ERP implementations and digital transformations a plus
• CPA designation required
