Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for financial management, reporting and analysis as well as budgeting and forecasting. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in construction and project management. Our client is seeking an effective leader who will supervise and mentor a small team as the organization continues to grow. • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for multiple entities
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision making
• Participate in the annual budget planning process
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Prepare monthly and quarterly HST filings
• Monitor cash flow, preparing forecasts and projections
• Provide effective leadership to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative work environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, CPA designation is required
• 5+ years of progressive experience preferably in the construction, real estate or property management industry
• Strong system skills are required, experience with Business Central within a MS Dynamics 365 environment is preferred
• Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills are key for success in this position
