Controller, Homecare (Full-Time) - Mississauga, ON

The Controller will report to the Vice President of Finance and will be a key business leader responsible for Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, cost control, asset management and business decision support for Medigas, the healthcare division of Linde Canada, Inc. The Controller will collaborate with senior management to position the business for financial growth and to ensure that the company meets or exceeds its financial commitments. Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and effective financial processes, systems and controls to ensure compliance with Corporate policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with leadership and associates to improve financial performance and understanding of key financial drivers and metrics.
  • Oversee monthly accounting close process and timely and accurate reporting of financials
  • Provides business unit performance evaluations (reporting and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results)
  • Assist with the creation of effective senior leadership reporting packages that can be shared with key stakeholders including process and business leaders
  • Support senior management in the evaluation and execution of new business opportunities
  • Prepare financial analysis to support investment decisions
  • Support functional leaders to achieve productivity/cost Improvement. Proactively promote cost and headcount controls.
  • Improve working capital with focus on accounts receivable and inventory in conjunction with the Business Process Lead
  • Evaluate financial processes and systems to drive continuous improvements in efficiency, internal controls, and reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain internal accounting control and SOX compliance. Support internal and external audits.
  • Participate or lead special projects as required.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate \xe2\x80\x93 Finance or Accounting, Professional Designation (CPA CA, CPA CMA)
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting required
  • Experience working within a Healthcare environment preferred
  • Demonstrate the ability to thoroughly understand a business\'s strategy and determine linkages to financial initiatives and drivers.
  • Ability to effectively manage people, projects, and tasks ensuring appropriate responsiveness and priority.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization and influence processes across multiple functions and stakeholders.
  • Highly computer proficient, including advanced capabilities with Excel
  • Knowledge of financial and ERP systems

  • Ability to influence and build strong business partnerships
  • Ability to switch quickly and effectively between high level strategic thinking / analysis to detailed reviews/deep dives
  • Strong analytic skills; able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate results in a clear/concise manner
