Controller
Marchand Electrical Company Limited is currently recruiting a Controller to join their team. Marchand is a fourth-generation family business and has developed an unmatched wealth of knowledge about lighting and electrical supplies. The company is looking for a dedicated dynamic accounting professional to provide leadership and coordination of its accounting, financial and budget planning. The Controller reports directly to the President. This position requires professional communications, interpersonal skills and ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. Primary responsibilities:
Develop, implement and maintain financial policies, systems and procedures;
Recruit, train and manage accounting staff;
Monitor, review and analyse monthly operating results;
Develop, implement and maintain inventory controls;
Cash flow planning;
Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises;
Prepare annual budget;
Identify ways to reduce expenses;
Prepare documentation for obtaining financing and negotiate conditions of financing;
Notify and report to the President and trends that are critical to the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial performance. Qualifications:
CPA/CMA/CGA designation required;
Minimum of 5 years experience;
Analytical, strategic and decision making skills;
Ability to meet deadlines;
Pro-active;
Interpersonal and communication skills;
Advanced Excel skills;
