Objective:



Reporting to the Executive VP Finance, the

Controller

is responsible for assisting the team in financial management of approximately $250M in annual revenues distributed over 40+ companies involved in various stages of development in Alberta, BC and Ontario. The Controller will have access to 7+ support staff and will be part of the Cantiro Group team. The Controller is accountable for professional work that includes, but is not limited to:

Role and Responsibilities



Control of revenue, expenditures and cash management for assigned Cantiro project companies Accuracy of financial information Interaction with CRA on all tax and GST related issues Identification and collaboration with Project and Development Managers, on financial issues that impact the cash flow and profitability of projects Job cost accounting on a project by project basis and review of project cost controls to ensure budgets are adhered to by Project and Development managers Assisting in the maintenance and continuous improvement of all project accounting systems, budgeting and cash-flow systems, and reporting procedures along with the VP Finance. Management of new companies and accounts, and collaboration with lenders on banking services Participate in tax planning through liaison with tax accountants Preparing monthly project financials, as well as quarterly and year-end financial reports to shareholders Data analysis of both new and existing projects to produce and provide KPI reporting to senior leadership
Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Education Requirements



Degree in Accounting or Commerce or equivalent CPA Designation Comprehensive knowledge of the practices and principles of accounting Knowledge/experience of the development industry and best practices 3-5 years of post-designation experience in a similar role preferred

Preferred Skills



Knowledge of Sage and particularly Sage Intacct considered an asset. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

This position requires minimum 40 hours per week and may be subject to flexible scheduling including early morning, and late night work. This position may include moderate lifting of supplies and equipment and will require an individual to be able to concentrate in a busy environment.

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
