Our Team
Our Newfoundland and Labrador Operations are an integrated mining, milling, and processing operation. Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes
The Operational Readiness department is responsible for the structured process of ensuring the Operations team acquires the tools, skills, and documentation to operate and maintain the assets being transferred from the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Mine Expansion Project.
The Opportunity
Vale recognizes the Impacts and Benefits Agreements with the Innu Nation and the Nunatsiavut Government in which Innu and Inuit workers have first preference for employment at the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Mine Site. This is guided by an adjacency principle that first gives preference to those who live on the coast of Labrador, followed by those residing in the rest of Labrador, those residing on the island of the province, followed by the rest of Canada.
Next, priority will be given to Newfoundland and Labrador residents. We also welcome those who are willing to relocate back home and those looking to make NL their permanent home.
We are currently seeking a Document Control Analyst to join our Operational Readiness department in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, NL. This is a fixed-term position until the end of 2024. This position will work a Monday to Friday schedule in our St Johns office with occasional visits to the Voisey\'s Bay Mine Site, if required.
The Document Control Analyst will work with the Operational Readiness team ensuring that proper planning is in place to guarantee the safe and expeditious start up and ramp up of the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Mine Expansion Project. The Document Control Analyst will be responsible for the implementation of the Operational Readiness Management System (ORMS) to track the execution of the Operational Readiness Plan (OR Plan). In this role, you will work closely with the OR Superintendent and other SMEs throughout the project execution phase and will be engaged to provide support to the project as a coach/mentor, to support the organization with Change Management, and to facilitate the deployment of the Operational Readiness Plan.
