A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting function. Reporting to the CFO, this role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations while playing a key role in long-term financial planning, performance improvement, and risk management. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a hands-on approach within a manufacturing environment.
This is a 3-mon contract with a 3-4 days onsite work model in client's office in Etobicoke, ON.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to support overall financial strategy.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with ASPE.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial financial, tax, and payroll requirements.
  • Oversee the annual audit process, including coordination with external auditors and completion of all account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and manage operating, capital, and program budgets.
  • Develop and manage cash flow forecasting and working capital strategies aligned with business operations.
  • Support contract, grant, and project financial reporting and compliance requirements as applicable.
  • Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments related to assets, liabilities, and capital investments.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve results.
  • Provide financial insight and decision support to the executive team.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
  • CPA designation with approximately 7-10 years of progressive experience in senior-level accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong background in financial planning, analysis, and performance management.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional and senior leadership teams.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and audit processes.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey financial information and recommendations.
  • Adaptable, practical, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment.
