Job Description


Next Level Group is an executive search firm partnering with Manufacturing companies throughout Canada and the US. We have been a driving force in the North American staffing industry since 2011. We built our staffing agency on the need for business and staffing solution partnerships in industries that are honest, ethical, and professional in their practices. We are currently looking for a Controller for a client located in Charlottetown PEI. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial functions for the corporation.
  • Responsibility for all financial aspects, working with managers, external accountants, and owners to forecast, track and analyze the companies' financial performance.
  • Managing the annual financial and cash flow forecast, providing weekly & monthly reports to managers and owners, developing and maintaining an internal control environment and overseeing the day-to-day financial operations.
  • Work closely with other departments as a leadership team member and provide financial insight into operations, analysis, and strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain an internal control environment.
  • Manage A/R and A/P to ensure timely payments of suppliers and reception of payments from customers.
  • Work with managers to ensure payroll is processed, remittances are paid, and all required forms are processed.
  • Prepare and distribute month and year-end reports to managers and owners.
  • Work with external accountants to prepare and file year-end tax reports.
  • Led annual financial and cash flow forecast.
  • Engage with managers regarding strategic plan execution.
  • Identify and communicate concerns, potential issues, and recommendations on strategic decisions.
  • Seek efficiency improvement opportunities and plan implementation with the COO.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or working towards designation would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting standards, principles, procedures, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet programs and applications.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and healthy conflict-resolution skills.
  • Analytical skills related to manufacturing and marketing.
  • Self-starter, able to adapt to change quickly and able to think outside the box.
