We want to make a difference and help heal the World. We have an immediate opening for a Controller. This position is available in Calgary, AB. How we plan on keeping you busy: \xc2\xb7 Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a finance team responsible for the monthly accounting cycle and financial statement preparation and reporting. \xc2\xb7 Monthly Reporting: Prepare working papers and journal entries for day-to-day accounting transactions including, but not limited to bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, prepaids, inventory, payroll, and accounts payable and accrued liabilities. Implement the month-end and year-end close process. \xc2\xb7 Cash Management: Preparation of cash forecasts. Oversight and support of cash receipt and payable cycles and related staff. Laison with commercial banking. \xc2\xb7 Business Partner: Work with significant project partners and internal project managers to support the financial aspects of major R&D project work taking place. \xc2\xb7 Payroll: Final Review and approval of payroll. Assist with implementation of new payroll system. Be a business partner with HR/Payroll department. \xc2\xb7 Financial Expertise: Monitors corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with IFRS and other regulatory bodies. \xc2\xb7 Financial Reporting: Overseeing the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements. \xc2\xb7 Audit & Tax: Leads the annual financial audit, and assists with other accounting engagements (tax, SRED etc.). \xc2\xb7 ERP Super User: Drive automation and increase effective utilization of the financial and reporting aspects of the ERP system (NetSuite). Support new systems or project selections and implement them from a strategic finance and internal control perspective. \xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned. What will help you get here: \xc2\xb7 University degree in Business/Accounting \xc2\xb7 Accounting Designation - with 3 to 5 years post designation experience preferred. \xc2\xb7 Financial managerial experience with previous Controller experience preferred. \xc2\xb7 Experience in an IFRS and CSOX environment an asset. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop staff within an interactive team environment. \xc2\xb7 Excellent attention to detail. \xc2\xb7 Advanced Microsoft excel skillset.
