Controller

Recruitment Partners is seeking an experienced Controller to join our client\xe2\x80\x99s team in Calgary. The successful candidate role will be providing financial insight, ensuring compliance, and contributing to strategic decision-making as well mentoring accounting team members and assisting the Vice President Finance on various projects. This role is ideal for candidates who have industry experience in homebuilding and land development.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Oversee a team of finance professionals, provide guidance, support, supervision to the team, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports.
• Responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Review and file GST returns, access and maintain all online CRA accounts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws, and internal policies.
• Create and improve documentation to support processes and procedures ensuring compliance is in place.
• Support implementation of any new financial systems by ensuring all required stakeholders are involved, procedures and documented.

Your strengths include:

• CPA designation with 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 of relevant industry experience
• Strong attention to detail, team player with leadership experience
• Experience with accounting software including Dynamics AX (HB1), Dynamics SL, Sage 50, BuildTopia and Management Reporter
• Project management and systems implementation experience
