Job Description

Our manufacturing client in the Hamilton area is in need of an interim Controller for the next 3 months with the strong potential for the role to become permanent. The Controller reports to CFO and will:

• Lead the cash flow planning, reporting, and forecasting

• Manage the banking including monthly reporting, and payments and transfers

• Manage month end close process

• Be responsible for the performance of the Finance team including day-to-day coaching and performance evaluation and development of each individual

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Ensure that all financial reporting adheres to GAAP and that internal controls meet generally accepted auditing guidelines

• Manage the financial system of the organization ensuring maximum productivity to meet the needs of the business today and in the future

• Work closely with Management to provide financial information critical to the success of their areas of responsibility

• Provide leadership for the accounting strategy, to optimize the company\'s financial performance and strategic position

• Manage the year-end audit process and relationship with external auditors, analyze results of the audit and develop process improvements based on the results

• Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements

• Develop internal controls and procedures to protect and safeguard the company\'s assets

• CPA, (CGA, CMA or CA) designation

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in a senior finance/accounting manager role with supervisory responsbility

• Experience as a Controller in manufacturing industry

• Experience as a Controller in manufacturing industry

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Superior communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to address and influence all levels within the organization
