Job Description

Reporting to the Directors of Operations and working collaboratively with the Office Manager, the Controller/Accountant will oversee the company's accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with regulations.
The Controller/Accountant will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operation of financial and accounting departments for operating and holding companies. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The tasks and the time spent performing each task may vary as business needs require. ServiceMaster Clean/ServiceMaster Restore maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion.

Financial Reporting:



Oversee the accurate preparation and submission of internal and external financial statements, reports and regulatory filing.



Coding invoices to correct accounts -Restore 365(DASH-Corelogic)



Accounting Operations:



Manage daily financial operations including full-cycle accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.



Budgeting and Forecasting:



Coordinate the financial planning and budget process and assist with financial forecasting.



Compliance:



Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements and other statutory obligations, such as GST, PST and corporate taxes.



Financial Analysis:



Analyze financial data, monitor business performance indicators and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision making.



Audit Coordination:



Manage the relationship with internal and external auditors, coordinate audits, and provide necessary financial information for audit engagements.



Technical Proficiency



Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.



Regulatory Knowledge



A strong understanding of accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS) and tax regulations.



General
Maintain professional conduct and appearance in all internal and external facing activities

Establish positive rapport with clients when possible

Provide an exceptional level of service that exceeds the expectation of the client

Conduct all work in accordance with company safety policies to ensure a safe work environment

Educational Requirements

_

Education Required: Post-Secondary education in accounting, Certified Public Accountant

Other Education/Certification/Training preferred: Construction background considered an asset

Work Experience Requirements

Work experience required: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an accounting position

Technical Proficiencies

Software: Outlook, Word, Excel, Restore 365 (DASH-Corelogic), SAGE 50, SAGE 100

Physical Requirements

This position requires low level of physical exertion. Moderate intensity of sensory effort is required.

Working Conditions

Regular Office/Business Hours- 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Flexible Part-Time with some full time hours

Remuneration is based on experience

Time will primarily be spent in an office environment during regular office hours. There may be requirements to work additional hours on occasion.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
