from February 2026 to May 2027.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a strong background in accounting principles and proficiency with various accounting software to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, job costing, inventory, and related internal controls.
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial results and coordination with external accountants and auditors.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
Maintain regular cash flow forecasting and oversee cash management activities, including banking relationships, short-term investments, loan positions, and foreign exchange transactions.
Process and oversee payroll for approximately 35 employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations.
Manage complex, project-based revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Prepare financial and management reports for the European-based parent company ensuring consistency with group reporting requirements and timelines.
Approve payments and act as an authorized signing officer in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
Ensure compliance with provincial and federal tax (including corporate tax and GST), statutory, and reporting requirements.
Oversee and support the Accounting Clerk, providing guidance and review to ensure quality and timeliness of work.
Support the CFO with financial analysis, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
CPA designation required
5+ years' experience in a senior level finance or accounting position
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and reporting frameworks (ASPE preferred)
Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (Syteline 10 would be asset)
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
