Control Systems Technician

Diamond Petrochemicals Canada Corporation ("DPCC") is a Canadian company with manufacturing facility located in Sarnia, Ontario. DPCC was established in 2020 to own and operate Canada's sole 1,3-Butadiene extraction unit. 1,3-Butadiene is a raw material for synthetic rubber, and it is found in production of tires as well as in many essential industrial and consumer goods.

The Control Systems Technician (CST) is a skilled Electrical journeyperson who will be responsible for maintenance and capital work in an industrial plant setting. The hours of work are four days a week,10 hours per day. The position is unionized through Unifor Local 914.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Install/ troubleshoot electrical up to 600v ac and 24v dc.

Maintain/troubleshoot motors and motor starters.

Diagnose and repair plant control systems including pressure, flow, temperature and level instrumentation.

Power distribution and electrical heat trace install /repair.

Install new electrical systems as required in accordance with the Canadian Electrical code.

Properly maintain instrumentation test equipment.

Diagnose and implement repairs to facilities, infrastructure lighting and safety showers.

Conduct equipment inspections and calibrations of critical instrumentation while keeping detailed records to prevent failures and ensure continuous unit operation.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical diagrams.

Follow company SOPs to ensure work is performed safely.

QUALIFICATIONS

309A Red Seal Electrical license preferred.

442A Red Seal Electrical license considered.

Instrumentation and Controls Technology Diploma is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years industrial experience required.

Valid driver's license.

Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team.

Must be comfortable working with hydrocarbons and other hazardous chemicals. This includes utilizing fresh air, working at heights and working from man lifts.
