We currently have an opportunity for a Control Systems Specialist in our Automation & Controls Department located in our Winnipeg Head Office. Reporting to the Manager, Automation & Controls, you will be responsible for instrumentation and process control systems for our processing plants and port terminal operations.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop and implement PLC and HMI process control systems projects

Provide support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, investigate and analyze repetitive failures and make recommendations for remediation

Define, measure and execute process optimization projects

Analyze and interpret process control drawings; stay abreast of codes and government regulations

Develop and implement preventative maintenance program for process control systems

Act as a technical lead to front line operations and maintenance department staff

Able to travel 25% to 40% annually, depending on project demand requirements

Qualifications:

Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience

3-5 years PLC and HMI experience, preferably in the agri-industrial or food processing industries

Project management experience

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills to provide technical support to operating plants
