Our is excited to add a new Controls Engineer to our engineering team, reporting to our Electrical Engineering Manager, in our Oakville, ON office! As our Controls Engineer, you\'ll leverage your analytical and problem-solving skills to assist in the design of comprehensive electrical controls systems for automated production lines in the packaging industry.

You\'ll be responsible for aiding in the overall design of our systems including control panels and field devices, schematics detailing, and programming PLC, HMI, and servos in accordance with industry and client guidelines.

  • Develop electrical field installation scopes of work
  • Create/interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, termination diagrams, and field wiring pull schedules in accordance with NEC, NFPA, and UL specifications
  • Develop efficient and organized PLC and HMI programs for both line integration projects and automation machines.
  • Conceptualize packaging systems into detailed functional specification documents
  • Troubleshoot automation, electrical and safety systems
  • Create and execute checkout and IQOQ documentation
  • Perform overall system testing and commissioning both at Zarpac and at customer facilities
  • Train maintenance and operations personnel in running and maintaining the production line

  • Minimum of an Associate\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline, from an accredited institution
  • 7+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in electrical and/or controls engineering related work; Robotic and Servo motor experience preferred
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and Powerflex drives
  • Working knowledge of Factory Talk Studio
  • Advanced AutoCAD skills
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize projects in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership, sometimes accepting assignments in support of overall site goals
  • Ability to travel 35% within Canada/USA and internationally
