Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Control System Designer (CSD) at ControlX Engineering Inc. We are looking for an engineer with strong electrical design expertise and hands-on experience in industrial automation. You will work on projects that involve advanced control systems, safety systems and motion applications across multiple industries.

Required qualifications:

Proven electrical control system design experience Electrical CAD experience with EPLAN or similar CAD software Expert-level PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Schneider Electric & Festo) Hands-on experience commissioning VFDs, motion control and servo systems Design and implementation of safety systems (safety PLC programming, etc) Knowledge of CSA, UL and other relevant standards Strong team collaboration skills Excellent technical documentation skills

Optional qualifications:

HMI design experience. Robot programming (ABB, Kuka, Fanuc, UR, etc). Experience with multi-axis and coordinated axes motion controls. Knowledge of electrical grounding and shielding. Knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT, etc). Knowledge of various position feedback systems (encoders, resolvers, etc). Visual Basic, C, C#, .NET and/or other software development experience.
In addition to above, you must also meet the following mandatory requirements:

Have proven engineering work experience in Canada (at least 3 years). Must be able to travel within North America and abroad. Engineering degree in electrical, mechatronics or related field. Knowledge of Ohm's law is a must! Passion for engineering. This is not just a job - we need people who actually enjoy doing this!

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
