Contracts Specialist

Mobility is the goal

A key contributor to the company\'s legal function, the Contracts Specialist ensures that procurement and contract reviews are completed in a timely manner in accordance with company policies, internal client requirements, and applicable law. This includes drafting, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk.

  • Reviews and revises customer and other contracts to ensure that they comply with company policies, internal client requirements and applicable law
  • Identify risk exposure and solutions to mitigate, or where possible eliminate, such risks
  • Appropriately escalates issues to General Counsel
  • Assists internal clients in interpreting procurement and contract terms, including effectively explaining the meaning and implications of particular contract terms
  • Maintains a contract database and files for easy access and retrieval
  • Manages contract-related issue resolution and enforcement, including utilization of small claims court actions and construction liens
  • Documents any changes/amendments that may happen during execution of the contract.
  • May be required to support claims management
  • Creates and maintains status reports on contract and procurement activities
Mobility needs you
  • Bachelor\'s degree in law, business, finance, or a minimum 3 years of relevant work in contracts management or legal document review and drafting.
  • Experience in elevator/escalator or construction industries is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience with small claims court procedures and construction lien processes is desirable but not essential
  • Bilingualism (English-French) is an advantage
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle and prioritize many projects simultaneously
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent client service ethic and ability to gain trust and confidence of internal clients
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures, and to interpret and comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to recognize problems, and to recommend and implement solutions
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy and completeness
  • Excellent drafting, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Computer literacy in MS Word and Excel
  • Experience working with SAP, contract management systems and document management systems is desirable
