Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced

Independent Contract Counsellor & Group Facilitator

to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction counselling and group facilitation, and will be comfortable providing both individual and group sessions to clients in various stages of recovery.

This is a

contracted position

, not an employee role. The contractor will provide services to Pegasus on an as-needed basis and will be responsible for managing their own professional registration, insurance, and taxes. The position offers approximately 10-15 hours per week to start, with potential for increased hours and permanent employment as our programs continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate psycho-educational and process-oriented addiction recovery groups. Provide individual counselling sessions focused on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, and co-occurring concerns. Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation in accordance with agency and professional standards. Collaborate with the Pegasus clinical team to ensure continuity of care and support a cohesive treatment environment. Participate in clinical meetings, supervision, and case consultations as required.

Qualifications

Registered Social Worker (RSW)

in good standing with the BCCSW, and/or

CACCF certification

at a minimum. Minimum

2 years of experience

in addiction treatment/counselling and/or group facilitation. Clear understanding of abstinence-based addiction treatment Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to work independently within a team environment.

Contract Details

Approximately 10-15 hours per week to start (flexible scheduling, may include evenings).

Independent Contractor position

-- not an employee role. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits. Competitive contracted hourly rate, commensurate with experience. Should the chosen candidate's position at Pegasus evolve into a permanent role, the hourly rate will reflect other employment benefits such as EI, CCP, and extended health benefits.
