Position overview Are you someone who is passionate about contract management, quality assurance, audits and compliance? We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Contract Services Representative (Aviation Security) in the Airport Operations Department. Reporting to the Manager Security Operations, the successful candidate is responsible for the execution, oversight and day-to-day management of the Security Services contract. Collaborating with the contractor to ensure YVR standards are met, tracking and monitoring contractor performance and driving innovation Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Security Service contract; this includes providing leadership and guidance in matters such as contractual terms and conditions and managing the change order process
  • Contribute to the contractor selection process, overseeing aspects with contract specifications, Key Performance Indicators, onboarding new service providers and regular extra services contract changes/requests.
  • Position plays a significant role in ensuring the contract is delivered according to budget, ensuring service contracts are providing safe, professional, innovative, prompt, effective and consistently high levels of service, as stipulated in their agreements with YVRAA
  • Monitor service contract performance to ensure quality assurance levels are being maintained; this includes conducting assurance audits, providing data for monthly reports and implementing improvements to areas of concern
  • Manage various operational and capital budgets on a regular basis, which includes reviewing all invoices to ensure validity and accuracy before authorizing payment, maintaining expense data and ensuring projects are delivered on-time and on-budget
  • Work closely with the contractor and other YVR departments ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; this includes looking for innovative ways to enhance the quality of service and efficiency
Key qualifications include:
  • Minimum two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in contract management, project management or service implementation and minimum five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in customer service management including developing and delivering communications materials, supplemented by a two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Proven experience in a complex, operational environment, with a clear understanding of legislative compliance, solid understanding of airport operations in the areas of passenger processing, terminal operations, aviation security and public safety is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contract services; contracting principles, processes and practices; and budgeting and forecasting
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, relationship management, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written), including professional writing experience, to develop and deliver communications to internal and external customers or partners through various means (e.g., social media, bulletins, weekly meetings, website, proposals, operational plans, etc.)
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to take control of situations and exercise sound judgment in formulating quick decisions
