Contract Field/Facility Operator

Our Opportunity

Archer Exploration is seeking a

Contract Field/Facility Operator

to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining high

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards

in the field, monitoring and testing oil and gas wells, and optimizing production rates in accordance with Archer and regulatory guidelines. The Operator may be required to manage a combination of

oil and gas wells

or

battery/gas compression facilities

.

This is not a camp-based position.

Candidates must either reside

in or near Grande Prairie

or be willing to stay in the area for the duration of their rotation.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure

regulatory compliance

, including pigging, testing, pipeline chemical treatment, odor control, facility inspections, and reporting. Safely

operate and maintain

both

sweet and sour oil wells

in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Operate and maintain

inlet separation, compression, dehydration, oil & water storage, pumps, power generation equipment, Pumpjacks, and ESPs

.

Start up and shut down

oil wells, facilities, and equipment; monitor and adjust operations to optimize production. Identify and implement opportunities to

improve production efficiency

. Monitor

well performance, fluid levels, and production equipment

(e.g., speed and efficiency). Maintain a

thorough working knowledge of all facilities

. Quickly assess and take corrective actions to

minimize production losses

. Perform routine

inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting

of production equipment. Record

daily production data

and report any abnormalities. Complete and maintain

daily, weekly, and monthly reports and inspections

. Ensure compliance with

HSE regulations

and take corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with field teams to support

overall production goals

. Be available for

on-call coverage

outside of regular hours when necessary. Assist in developing and implementing

site-specific procedures

. Adhere to

Archer's safety and loss control programs

, including policies such as

ERP, PLIMP, PEIM, CMDS,

and others.

Qualifications & Experience

English fluency required

(for safety-sensitive reasons).

Minimum 3 years

of experience

operating oil & gas wells

and related equipment. Strong understanding of

oil and gas production processes

, including

sour gas handling

. Ability to

work independently

and make sound decisions in the field. Proficiency with

computers

for reporting and operational monitoring.

Exceptional organizational skills

and strong

mechanical aptitude

.

Valid Class 5 driver's license

and

reliable transportation

. Ability to

adapt to changing conditions

. Strong

communication, teamwork, and work ethic

. Up-to-date

safety certifications

, including:

First Aid/CPR

H2S Alive

TDG/WHMIS

Ground Disturbance

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

.
