We are currently recruiting contract faculty for the Plumbing Programs.


Plumber (306A) Apprenticeship Program

Level 1 Level 2 Level 3

What Are We Looking For:

You have a relevant combination of education and current experience, including a Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber and a minimum 5 years experience as a journeyperson (i.e., post C of Q) in the plumbing trade. Your experience is varied and includes the installation and servicing of residential/commercial plumbing fixtures and appliances, as well as industrial experience. In addition, you are required to have a strong understanding of drinking water supply and treatment systems. Completion of the Operator of Small Drinking Water Systems course or equivalent and Backflow and Cross Connection certification are considered an asset.


This role also requires self-motivation, flexibility and a passion for learning and student success. You will work in a team environment and develop/deliver curriculum using a variety of teaching methodologies which may include lectures, seminars, labs, field trips, work placements, computer simulation, online learning, or other innovative delivery methods. Experience in an e-learning environment with comfort teaching both face-to-face and web-based delivery is a definite asset.

Communication:

Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deliver and receive feedback, as well as well-developed critical thinking/problem-solving, and organizational / time management skills are required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning as a dual professional, fostering relationships and connections while providing accessible, inclusive, superior service to students.

Computer Proficiency:

You are proficient working with a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Excel, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet search, learning management systems and online learning applications. Additional computer proficiency will be relative to the knowledge required for the programs of study.

Salary Range:

As per the non-full-time academic salary grid.
