The Impact the Director, Business Transformation can make:
The Director, Business Transformation and Strategic Initiatives will primarily be responsible for leading two core initiatives, the implementation of the strategic plan and the introduction of a new HCM system, Workday. Reporting to the COO and partnering with the Executive Leadership team this role plays a pivotal role in executing the strategic goals of Covenant House Vancouver (CHV).
How you will contribute:
Strategic plan:
Oversee the execution of the organizational strategic plan including tracking and reporting of initiatives and metrics using the Elate platform
Maintain Elate platform and identify ways to optimize its use
Partner with CEO and ELT to develop annual operational plans
Partner with leaders across the organization as needed to ensure successful delivery of strategic plan
Oversee and ensure quarterly goals are being met and work with ELT to adjust projects, resources, budgets as necessary
Identify and assess potential initiatives, projects, and partnerships that align with the organization's strategic goals
Workday:
Oversee Workday project, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives and strategic plan
Oversee project budget, including monthly monitoring
Lead, coach and support project manager
Oversee all resources for the project
Lead change management for the project, including developing change management plan, consultation, communication,
Provide regular project updates, monitor progress, troubleshoot issues
Act as key liaison with implementation partner
Oversee risk management for project
CHV wide initiatives:
Partner with the COO to support the continued development of a safety culture across the organization. Including supporting root cause analysis processes and reporting.
Partner with COO to support the partnership between Covenant House Vancouver and Covenant House Toronto.
Develop and present compelling business cases and presentations to influence stakeholders
Research, analyze and evaluate opportunities developing rationale, ROIs and other such evaluations to provide recommendations
Take an active role in managing key project tasks as needed
Support change management efforts to ensure alignment and adoption
Support development and implementation of change plans, including communication, training documentation, and knowledge transfer
Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and management of strategic initiatives
Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making, measure progress, and adjust strategies as needed
Implement change management plans to ensure the adoption and success of new initiatives
Provide effective leadership to inspire, motivate, and guide cross-functional teams and foster a culture that embraces innovation and change
Drive the adoption of best practices in program and project management methodologies
Conduct retrospectives to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement
This position has the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight schedule most months of the year, where you'll work longer days for 9 days and earn every other Friday off.
Compensation:
The successful candidate can expect a starting annual salary of between $93,584.40 and $116,989.60 depending on factors such as internal equity, experience, competencies, and education. Once hired, the hourly rates are reviewed annually following the annual performance review and successful employees have the opportunity for their hourly rate to increase, over time, up to the maximum of the pay band, currently $140,394.80.
Education and Experience:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant experience
A minimum of 5- years of progressive experience in process optimization or management consulting, with a demonstrated track record of delivering significant results
Project Management Certification (i.e., PMP, etc.) is an asset
Prosci change management certification considered an asset
