Construction Contract Administrator

Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven

Construction Contract Administrator

to support our architectural team throughout the construction phase of our projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring that project documentation is coordinated, accurate, and delivered on schedule, while maintaining strong communication with clients, consultants, and construction teams. Our work centers on high-density residential developments, and the successful candidate will help guide projects from early design through to occupancy.

What You Bring

A degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology; CCCA designation is considered a strong asset. A minimum of 5 years' experience in construction contract administration or construction project management. Knowledge of construction industry regulations, standards, and legal frameworks. Strong ability to interpret and prepare construction contracts, along with familiarity with standard contract administration forms and processes. A proactive approach -- able to anticipate issues, problem-solve, and balance competing priorities. Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and graphic), with the ability to collaborate effectively and manage conflict when needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and working knowledge of Revit/BIM. Experience with construction management platforms (such as Procore, BIM 360, ACC, or PlanGrid) is an advantage.

Your Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact between the General Contractor/Construction Manager, the client, and the architectural/engineering team throughout construction. Participate collaboratively with architects and technologists, supporting Construction Administration and, when needed, assisting in Revit-based contract document preparation and pre-tender reviews. Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with contract documents, conducting regular site visits and issuing clear and detailed field review reports. Manage and coordinate responses to RFIs, ensuring timely and accurate communication. Review and return shop drawings and submittals promptly. Prepare and administer site instructions, change directives, change notices, and related documentation. Evaluate contractor quotations, provide recommendations to the Owner, and lead the preparation of change orders. Review monthly progress claims, prepare certificates for payment, and maintain consistent reporting to the Project Manager on cost control, schedule updates, and overall project status. Attend OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings and document decisions and action items. Oversee construction closeout, including reviewing final submittals and issuing deficiency reports at substantial performance and completion.
