Vancouver Community College's Continuing Studies is looking for skilled clinical instructors to teach in our Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Certificate Program. Successful candidates will be offered a term contract position, with opportunities for continued instructional assignments.
This position is responsible for teaching students in an assigned field of study using a diverse set of instruction methods and tools. The position prepares teaching materials, provides assessments of students' progress, and develops lesson plans/syllabi. The position is also responsible for upholding the College's policies and procedures and for participating in meetings.
Duties & Responsibilities
Utilize industry knowledge to teach and engage students using a diverse and systematic plan of presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, and clinical sessions.
Effectively communicate with students, in a group or individual setting, using both visual techniques and verbal communication.
Prepares, administers and marks assignments and other assessments to monitor and evaluate students' progress.
Provides guidance and detailed feedback on students' progress.
Creates a positive learning environment by consistently demonstrating preparedness for class, by motivating students to accomplish educational and personal goals and by providing the opportunity to receive and act on student feedback.
Maintains an effective stewardship of classroom facilities, equipment, materials and supplies.
Adheres to VCC policies and procedures including being available to students and maintaining confidentiality of students and information.
Qualifications

Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE
$40 - $50/hour depending on qualifications and experience.
