The Northside Homemakers Society provides care to members of our community who require assistance with daily living. We are seeking individuals who are devoted to the care and support of our clients.

We are seeking Casual Continuing Care Assistants, Continuing Care Assistant Students, Practical Nursing Students, or Nursing Students who will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) to individuals of all ages in their own home. We promote holistic health and independence. All care is in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of the Northside Homemakers Service Society . Responsibilities:

Adheres to organizational policy and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate an excellent attendance record. Bathe, dress, assist residents with personal hygiene to increase comfort and well being. Prepare healthy meals for client in accordance with their specific requirements. Maintain living environment by providing light housekeeping and laundry. Provide Respite care to families to reduce caregiver burnout. Complete client's tick sheets accurately and promptly. Document all pertinent information on progress notes and discuss with LPN/RN Supervisors. Report all changes in client's condition to RN/LPN and contact person. Follows Infection Control policies and procedures. Report all unsafe conditions or equipment to the RN/LPN. Always maintains confidentiality in all dealings within the Northside Homemakers Service Society. Seeks/participates in ongoing educational and training opportunities.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to work independently and as a team member. Organize, prioritize, and multitask in a changing work environment. Practice and promote occupational health and safety.

Qualifications:

Continuing Care Assistant Certificate CCA Students, RN Students ,LPN students, RCW Students or any healthcare related students. Candidates that are enrolled in or thinking about taking the Continuing Care Assistant program. Candidate with comparable healthcare education and/or caregiver related experience. Clearance of a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search before hiring. Current CPR and First Aid Certificates (Be willing to obtain before employment commences Current Food Handling Course (Be willing to obtain before employment commences) Ability to travel from home to home and have own reliable transportation with valid insurance. Ability to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays. Good general health which allows the ability to work on a regular basis and meet the physical demands of the position(Can lift up to 35lbs).
