Duties
Assist residents and patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to track health status accurately
Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
Help with meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration for residents with diverse dietary needs
Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
Observe and document patient behavior, changes in condition, or symptoms related to dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities
Implement individualized care plans developed by nursing staff or social workers to meet each resident's specific needs
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
Respond promptly to emergency situations using CPR or first aid skills when necessary
Support residents' social engagement by participating in group activities or providing companionship during leisure time
Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, families, and team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
Skills and Qualifications
Continuing Care Assistant Provincial Certificate, be a recent graduate of a CCA program, or be a current PLAR candidate
Completion of Standard First Aid and CPR C
Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Previous related experience preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and clinical skills
Able to maintain regular and consistent attendance
