About the Role
CCAs provide assistance to clients who can no longer perform activities of daily living independently. The duties are wide-ranging and include making clients feel safe and comfortable.
Responsibilities
The CCA is responsible for:
Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as bathing, washing, dressing, grooming etc.
Performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and tidying the client's room and changing sheets
Setting up meals according to specific dietary requirements and assist clients during meal time
Providing companionship and emotional support to clients by spending time with them
Escorting clients to appointments and recreational activities
Helping and supervising clients with performing exercises
Transferring and moving clients in and out of a wheelchair
Turning, lifting, and positioning clients who require mobility assistance
Reporting and documenting client concerns, incidents, and progress notes
Administering first aid in emergency situations
Taking clients' temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
Work Location
Candidates will be working in nursing homes located in Kentville/Annapolis valley region
Candidate Requirements
Highschool graduate
CCA certificate or eligible to become certified or equivalent experience
1 year CCA experience - Mandatory
First Aid, and CPR Certificate
Currently registered with the CCA Registry or willingness to register
Nursing Aide or Health Care Aide Certificate are an asset
