Overview:
The contents developer will create an enriching learning environment for students by using holistic and career-oriented teaching contents and methods. The incumbent will ensure students progress effectively by maintaining an organized and structured classroom contents. The administration of assignments, tests, projects, and exams will help students stay engaged and will help the instructor to accurate gauge student success. The incumbent will work under the NACIT guidance and supervision of the Department of Academic Affairs.
As an Entry-Level Automation Technologist, you will play a key role in supporting our automation teaching labs. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining lab equipment, assisting students in their lab work, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. This position is ideal for a motivated graduate with a strong foundation in automation systems and a passion for continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
Arrange, organize, and maintain automation lab equipment
Provide hands-on assistance and technical support to students during lab sessions
Work independently with minimal supervision to troubleshoot and configure automation systems
Assist instructors in preparing and executing lab exercises
Ensure compliance with Canadian electrical codes and safety standards in the lab
Support the integration of automation systems, including PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and robotics
Qualifications
Recent graduate in Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC-5, SLC 500, and ControlLogix/CompactLogix (RSLogix 500/5000) platforms
Understanding of Omron and Siemens CPUs (S7-200, S7-300, S7-1200)
Knowledge of VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and servo systems
Ability to work with a variety of sensors, with solid knowledge of Canadian electrical codes
Interest and basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
Familiarity with ABB robots and AutoCAD Electrical is a strong asset
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow with the organization
