Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Hours: Mon-Fri, 40 hours/week

This opportunity is looking for candidates situated in Western Canada only.

The Opportunity
  • As our B2B Content Marketing Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for the content strategy geared towards home service professionals. You will collaborate closely with the Marketing, Product/UX, Customer Success and Sales teams to ensure we have a unified Brand voice/tone across all forms of communication to our prospects and customers. Success in this role means contributing to the team\'s efforts to hit growth targets as well as completing key strategic projects.
Your typical day at HomeStars:
  • Blog Writing: consistently produce high-quality blog articles that will help us in attracting new users to the website; 2,000+ word blogs (2-3 articles per week)
  • Conversion-driven Content: support in writing engaging content for all marketing channels, such as: email, landing pages, and paid ads - ensuring unified Brand voice/tone.
  • Generative AI: effectively utilize automation (ChatGPT) to scale and enhance content production
  • Website Management: manage & optimize our blog content built on WordPress CMS
  • SEO Strategy: conduct keyword research and use SEO best practices to build a content calendar aimed towards increasing organic website traffic
  • Content Calendar: develop and manage content planning calendar & reports that will showcase the performance of the content assets produced
  • Cross-team collaboration: work with Marketing, Product/UX, Sales, and Customer Success teams to achieve key strategic objectives
Must-have qualifications:
  • Must-have 2-5 years of experience in a similar role (content writer, copywriter), planning and writing content that converts.
  • Must have a portfolio of published articles!
  • Experienced in systematically improving organic search performance and driving traffic
  • Strong analytical skills, and experience working with tools like Google Analytics, Looker, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, etc.
  • Strong content strategy skills, including data-driven content creation
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with an eye for detail and grammar
  • Strong project management, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable interviewing members of the public and industry professionals.
  • You have an avid interest in content and SEO, and you keep up with industry news and trends
  • You\'re customer-focused and you thrive in a fast-paced team environment
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Educational background in journalism, PR, communications, marketing or related
  • Experience networking with media professionals is a plus
  • Familiarity with the home services industry
