Our social media presence celebrates the people, places, and stories that make Toronto shine. We're growing fast and looking for a creative, ambitious Content Creator to join our team and help take our content to the next level.
The Role
We're looking for a Toronto-based Content Creator who's passionate about the city and skilled at bringing stories to life through short-form video. You'll be responsible for filming and editing engaging on-site content (think local restaurants, small businesses, pop-ups, and city events) with the goal of growing our following and connecting with our gen z & millennial audience. This is a hands-on, creative role that blends storytelling, trend awareness, and production skills.
What You'll Do
Visit and film Toronto restaurants, local businesses, and events (2-4 reels per week)
Edit engaging short-form videos optimized for Instagram Reels and TikTok (using CapCut). Videos must feature you on-camera
Capture the vibe and story behind each location in a way that resonates with a Toronto- based audience
Stay on top of social media trends, sounds, and best practices to keep our content relevant and fresh
Collaborate with the NowThisMagazine team on content ideas and storytelling angles
Draft captions that match our tone and connect with our audience
What We're Looking For
Based in the GTA (or able to travel within Toronto)
Proven experience filming and producing content for social media (please share your portfolio or examples!). Applicants without this will not be considered.
Strong grasp of social media trends, best practices, and what makes content perform
Proficient in CapCut (required) and Canva (preferred)
Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
Creative eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling
Nice to Have
Previous experience working with lifestyle, travel, or food-related content
Knowledge of Toronto's local scene
Social strategy experience
