Kelowna Yacht Club has been supporting boater education and safe, responsible enjoyment of Okanagan Lake since 1945. Our facility is a resource for community partners such as the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and Adaptive Sailing Association.

The Opportunity



The Content Creator & Social Media Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Kelowna Yacht Club's marketing efforts by developing and executing engaging social media strategies and internal marketing. This full-time position works closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager to enhance the Club's online presence, member communications, build community engagement, showcase the membership life, and support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and implement social media strategies that align with the Club's overall marketing objectives and brand identity. Curate and create compelling content for various social media platforms, including written copy, graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets. Oversee and execute content across multiple accounts on multiple platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), ensuring consistency in messaging, branding, and tone. Work closely with team members to identify opportunities for content creation and promotion. Be self-driven in sourcing, developing, and posting timely and relevant content that reflects the Club's activities and values. Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across platforms. Actively engage with followers to foster a vibrant and positive online community. Design and update internal marketing assets such as posters, digital screens, and signage to support Club events, promotions, and member communications. Use social media analytics tools to track campaign performance, identify trends, and provide regular reports with actionable insights to management. Plan and execute targeted social media campaigns that drive engagement, increase brand awareness, and support Club initiatives. Stay current with social media trends, tools, and best practices. Make recommendations for new strategies and tactics to keep the Club's digital presence fresh and compelling. Address comments, questions and complaints with discretion, escalating issues when appropriate. Uphold the Club's standards of etiquette, discretion, and service excellence. Provide knowledgeable and enthusiastic information about all aspects of Club life. Serve as an in-house sales ambassador, promoting Club memberships, events, watersports, The Galley Lakeside Cafe and other revenue-generating offerings. Assist with additional administrative responsibilities as required.

Qualification & Skills



2+ years of experience managing social media for a brand or organization. Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Exceptionally reliable, trustworthy, and accountable. Experience managing multiple social media accounts across platforms. Proficiency in scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite). Experience with paid social media advertising and campaign optimization. Photography and videography skills, including basic editing. Familiarity with brand voice development and audience targeting. Ability to adapt content for different platforms and demographics. Experience working in hospitality, tourism, or member-based organizations is an asset. Knowledge and comfort level of being on the water (e.g., boating, sailing, or yacht club culture).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
