The Content Solutions team is a key enabler of the plan to win the home and provide innovative entertainment solutions. The team's vision is to make Optik TV our customers' first choice for entertainment. A passion for and a deep knowledge of popular culture entertainment, in particular TV & movies is a must. We also work closely with the Local Content team who provides production grants, training, live streaming and distribution opportunities to diverse filmmakers and content creators in BC and Alberta. We are focused on empowering underrepresented organizations, communities and individuals, empowering them to tell their stories through our originals, STORYHIVE and Community Content programs.

The Content Coordinator will manage and execute various merchandising activities for the Local Content team and Local Sports team. You will execute on the merchandising strategy as outlined by the Local Content team. Your particular focus will be to program content updates in the Optik TV interface on a daily basis and maintain a merchandising schedule to ensure key stakeholders have transparency to all changes. You will also be responsible for managing asset traffic, coordinating incoming assets from encoders/content providers, inputting metadata via asset management system (AMS), conducting quality assurance testing and troubleshooting as needed. You will be working with various content providers and internal/external stakeholders on a daily basis. Responsibilities will also include the execution of other projects involving content launch goals & targets.

Must have skills:
- Knowledge of on-demand and streaming media platforms such as iTunes and Netflix
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and precision
- Working with technology, administrative management & tracking
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Demonstrated ownership/initiative, showing a strong sense of urgency and self-direction
- Demonstrated qualities in issue resolution involving new technology
- Professional composure and an ability to communicate effectively and concisely
- Team player with ability to prioritize multiple ongoing projects, meet deadlines and embrace change
- Quick learner with keen interest in continuous improvement
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or G Suite apps from Google.
- Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience with Adobe Photoshop

Nice to have skills:
- Prior experience with content management systems is beneficial
- Prior experience with metadata management (experience with XML strongly preferred)
- University degree or equivalent in business administration or comparable field

Day to day activities:
- Daily operational responsibilities: Manage asset traffic, coordinate incoming assets from content partners, input metadata via AMS, conduct quality assurance testing and troubleshooting
- Daily merchandising responsibilities: Program merchandising tools for content changes, content prioritization, secure/create artwork for content assets, sort order and write copy
- Manage all Change Requests to support content changes to the Content Hubs/Showcases
- Work closely with the Technical team to integrate content from YouTube and from other social media live streams
- Maintain a schedule that tracks all content changes and special promotions
- Attend meetings with the Local Content team to coordinate content changes and brainstorm creative ways of surfacing notable content
- Establish regular communication with internal content partners to ensure efficient delivery of assets and supporting material
- Strive to continuously improve and optimize processes for maximum efficiency
- Request marketing materials from internal content partners for use with campaigns & general merchandising
- Support other Local Content related requests
