The Content and Communications Marketing Officer is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality content across digital and print platforms, supporting both internal and external communications efforts. This role plays a key part in maintaining a consistent brand voice, engaging diverse audiences, and strengthening the organization's visibility and public presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops and implements content strategies aligned with organizational goals and communications objectives.
Creates, edits, and publishes original content for websites, newsletters, social media, email campaigns, and other communications channels.
Manages social media accounts, including content scheduling, audience engagement, and performance tracking.
Collaborates with Stakeholders to gather stories, updates, and content ideas that reflect the organization's mission and work.
Ensures all content aligns with brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in voice, tone, and messaging.
Coordinates media relations activities, including drafting press releases, media advisories, Itinerary planning and talking points.
Tracks and analyzes communication metrics and performance indicators to assess impact and inform content planning.
Leads community management efforts by monitoring, responding to, and engaging with followers across social platforms to build meaningful relationships and support audience growth.
Supports public relations, marketing campaigns, and event communications as required.
Identifies, engages, and manages relationships with social media influencers, brand ambassadors, and content collaborators to enhance brand reach and engagement.
Oversees influencer campaigns from outreach and briefing to content review and performance reporting.
Creates engaging, real-time content onsite at events, tourism businesses, and community activations to capture the vibrancy and spirit of the destination.
This position includes four hours per week contacted to the Chamber of Commerce social media and website updates as needed.
Works closely with the Director of Tourism Services to develop and execute a comprehensive influencer and tourism-focused social media strategy.
Provides support to the Marketing Coordinator as needed, contributing to campaign execution, event promotion, and administrative marketing tasks.
Maintains and regularly updates the organization's digital content library, ensuring all photos, videos, graphics, and brand assets are organized, accessible, and up to date.
Attends meetings, industry conferences, workshops, and networking events as needed to stay informed and connected within the tourism and marketing community.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in content creation, communications, or digital marketing.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail and grammar.
Proficiency in digital tools such as content management systems (e.g., WordPress), email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), and social media scheduling tools.
Working knowledge of visual content tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and basic video editing software.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) and basic SEO principles is considered an asset.
Experience with influencer marketing, including negotiation, campaign coordination, and reporting, is highly desirable.
Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to assist colleagues and support broader marketing functions when needed.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain efficient digital asset management systems.
Willingness to represent the organization at relevant events and contribute to industry knowledge-sharing opportunities.

Pay: $58,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
