Consultants at ERM lead and contribute to successful consulting engagements, support marketing and business management, and actively contribute to the internal growth and development of our team, our systems, and our culture. Collaborating closely with Senior Consultants, Consultants typically focus on a particular ERM advisory service area but can adapt to support other areas when needed - versatility and cross-fertilization across business lines is an important factor underlying ERM\xe2\x80\x99s success.YOUR ROLEWe are looking for a Consultant to join a team of practitioners focused on projects in Inuit Nunangat that touch on themes related to Indigenous self-determination, reconciliation, and socio-economic development in collaborative and multi-stakeholder environments. Given the cross-cutting nature of these topics, there may be an opportunity to expand the scope of work to other regions of Canada (e.g., Yukon, Northwest Territories, British Colombia), should this be of interest. Your work will include supporting existing relationships with clients as well as identifying and developing new opportunities.The Consultant, Inuit Nunangat is accountable for:

  • Assisting with designing, delivering, and reporting on in-person and virtual engagements (e.g., workshops, meetings, interviews), as well as providing technical support for virtual meetings.
  • Contributing to successful engagements by conducting desktop research and literature reviews to inform the development of background and meeting materials.
  • Coordination of engagements by conducting outreach to participants, tracking attendance, and distributing materials.
  • Contributing to business development and marketing activities at ERM by conducting research on client needs, preparing marketing materials, and participating in proposal preparation.
  • Thinking critically and strategically, helping to influence the impact of our work and the outcomes for our clients

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a discipline related to natural resource governance, sustainability, or Indigenous studies
  • Some relevant academic and/or work experience related to Inuit Nunangat and/or on the topics of land claims and natural resource governance would be an asset
  • Some relevant academic and/or work experience with synthesizing complex information into plain language summaries, multi-stakeholder engagement, and in-person or virtual facilitation, would be highly desirable
  • Some relevant experience working with Indigenous peoples or organizations would be an asset
  • Previous consulting experience is highly desirable
Skills and AttributesERM is looking for candidates who demonstrate:
  • Initiative as demonstrated by a willingness to take on new tasks, promote new initiatives and seek clarification where necessary (i.e., regarding assigned tasks)
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (in speaking and in writing), as evidenced by clear and respectful communications with colleagues and clients
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Experience working both independently and as a team member
  • An ability to conduct research (e.g., web-based, literature, surveys and/or interviews), analyze data and present results in a clear and concise manner
  • Project management skills and experience would be an asset
For the Consultant, Social Performance position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $66,000 \xe2\x80\x93 $76,752 CAD. An employee\xe2\x80\x99s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above.
