What you'll be doing
As a Business Analyst in MR Solutions, you will assist the Director of Market Risk Solutions in delivering methodologically robust and operationally sustainable solutions for the management, measurement, reporting, and monitoring of market risk in the Bank's Trading Book. You will develop and maintain close working relationships within a matrix organization that emphasizes interaction between CMRM (Trade Floor Risk Managers, Risk Reporting and Decision Support, Limit and Production Monitoring, Quantitative Risk) and non-CMRM (Risk Technology, Front Office and FO Technology, Finance, Audit) stakeholders.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
(i) Domain Knowledge: You can demonstrate a strong understanding of:Capital Markets products across various asset classes (e.g., FX, Rates, Commodities, Equities), including derivatives and their pricing principles. Market risk metrics, models, methodologies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

(ii) Business Analysis: For assigned market risk-related initiatives, you will:Identify and engage relevant stakeholders. Perform thorough analyses while applying existing and/or developing new market risk-related knowledge. Document the current state and required changes. Propose solutions, build consensus, and contribute to the definition of business processes and controls. Plan and execute testing, presenting results to stakeholders.

(iii) Project Delivery: You will effectively manage a portfolio of Market Risk projects/change requests, addressing and overcoming technical and/or business obstacles as they arise. You will collaborate with various stakeholders within and outside of CMRM to ensure timely completion of testing and securing required sign-offs, working within an Agile project delivery framework
Who you areYou have experience in Business Analysis, robust requirements gathering, documentation skills, and effective communication. You possess in-depth business domain knowledge and/or experience in relevant business or technology areas, including Capital Markets and Risk Management. You give meaning to data. You are proficient with relational databases and comfortable manipulating large datasets using applicable languages and tools. Strong SQL query writing and advanced Excel skills are essential. Experience with other programming languages (e.g., VBA, Python, PowerShell, R) is an asset, as is adaptability to new tools and trends in AI and machine learning. You act like an owner.
