Consultant, Compensation, Benefits and Systems



Start Date: As Soon As Possible



Salary Range: $60,273.69 to $81,546.75



Location: 2150 Chevrier Blvd.



Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours/week)





Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Consultant, Compensation, Benefits and Systems is responsible for providing expertise in the areas of Compensation, Benefits and Systems along with the analysis of these systems from the perspective of Total Rewards.


This position will provide a customer service focused lens to its employees and business partners, timely data upon request, analyze benefit programs, ensuring MITT is providing to its employees is aligned with its strategic goals, and update the system as benefits costs change.


The Consultant, Compensation, Benefits and Systems will provide systems that are efficient and cost-effective, offer training to MITT's business partners and ensure the system is updated with current data.


The Consultant will ensure that MITT's positions are aligned to current market trends relative to compensation through compensation analysis, trends within the market, benchmarking and recommend strategies to ensure MITT's competitive edge within the industry. The Consultant will design and lead implementation of compensation, benefit and HRIS system related projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



Benefits



Responsible for the administration of employee benefit programs, such as extended health, dental, EAP, life insurance, short and long term disability, pension and RRSP programs. Ensures plans are competitive from a plan design and administration standpoint, and makes recommendations for cost control and improvement. Ensures that the benefits program meets the strategic objectives of MITT and provides attractive and competitive programs for our employees in accordance with social and industry trends. In collaboration with Manager, evaluate vendor contracts to confirm opportunities for cost savings and service improvements. Manages employee enrollment process for all benefits, including the development of timelines, communication plan utilizing various media, coordinating with broker/vendor and reporting. Design reports that monitor benefit costs and provides data needed to understand trends and budget impacts. Maintain respectful relationship with broker/vendor relating to quality, costs/billings, reporting, and audits. Provides reporting information when required to internal and external stakeholders, as required. Assisting Consultant, Employee and Labour Relations in the facilitation of leaves of absence, such as the administrative duties of completing short and long term disability employer reports, WCB claims, benefit costs during employee unpaid leaves of absences. Administer HRIS Benefits module by auditing rates and updating them when changes to benefit rates occur to ensure compliance with providers. Act as the primary contact for all Group benefits; provide exceptional service, proactively investigate issues and resolve inquiries. Experience with an understanding of how to compile and submit benefit remittances.

Compensation



Conducts market analysis and environmental scans to ensure MITT's compensation competitiveness Provides compensation analysis on new and existing positions and makes recommendations to requesting managers/employees. Designs various forms of compensation tools and strategies to meet the competitive needs of MITT in implementation of its Total Rewards strategy. Leads the Classification Committee, trains and orientates new participants with the evaluation process and tools. Maintains the job register for when positions are evaluated. Updates and maintains the salary scales as required. Updates compensation structure within the HRIS when required. Implement a strategic timeline for re-evaluation of positions within MITT, ensuring market competitiveness.

Systems



Lead and/or support the implementation of different HRIS systems and/or modules and functionality as required. Provide subject matter expertise during implementation. Provide support to Human Resources management and staff as required for all HR projects and initiatives. Ensure accuracy of position management both within HRIS and Finance systems. Create, maintain, monitor and report new and existing position control. Align information with Finance, Human Resources, and Payroll to keep data accuracy including new position requests, and position changes (promotion, reclassifications). Ensures HRIS integrity. Develops and implements audit processes to facilitate the analysis of data input and output to ensure accuracy and consistency. Create and maintain job aides to be used within or in conjunction with the HRIS system. Maintain organizational charts and provide upon request to business partners. Troubleshoot system issues as required. Provide recommendations as it relates to efficiencies. Conduct training within MITT and provide leadership to perform activities related to HRIS system. Support the Human Resources team and business partners in areas of data maintenance, data integrity, reporting, and analytics. Create, maintain, and support a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools. Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing end-user needs. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.

Required Qualifications and Experience

:

A combination of related education and experience may be considered.

Degree in Business Administration or related field, preferably with a Human Resources major/specialty and/or Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources, with a combination of education and experience, may be considered. CPHR Designation or working towards one is preferred CCP Designation is preferred. Training in the BASE Method of Job Evaluation is preferred. 3 years' experience working within a Human Resources department. 3 years' related experience in compensation, benefits and/or systems is required. Experience working within a unionized environment is preferred.
