What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Director, Technology, Data Governance and Special Initiatives, you will support planning and execution of high complexity transformational projects in the Commercial Bank. You will be part of a team focused on the development, support and maintenance of Commercial Banking\xe2\x80\x99s Suite of Technology Applications. The suite of applications are used by the Line of Business for several purposes including managing clients and pipeline, pricing, monitoring of credit compliance, among others. The applications collect and store information for business analysis and decision-making.

How You\xe2\x80\x99ll Succeed

  • Implementation - Recommend and support implementation of technology development priorities for applications, including: (i) support the strategic development priorities; (ii) manage technology enhancements; (iii) represent various CIBC stakeholder and working groups; and (iv) manage business opportunities, compliance policies and downstream systems/users dependencies. Capture and document requirements from business stakeholders and work with technology partners to execute changes to requested applications. Review technology testing results and approve these changes for promotion into production. Make go/ no go recommendations. Develop and recommend solutions that enhance usability and integrity of the business applications. Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
  • Development & Testing - Support the development and testing of applications as required: (i) support application development teams with interpreting business requirements and business rules; and (ii) support Quality Assurance teams with investigating and resolving variances from system integrated testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Collaboration - Work closely with the broader business team to ensure the creation and refinement of the product vision and roadmap. Identifying and prioritizing so that the right customer problems are solved in alignment with the strategic vision, competitive pressures and Business Case value drivers. Lead data analysis and ongoing communication with Commercial Banking stakeholders. Develop, organize and lead user training sessions for applications as applicable. Work with Commercial Banking stakeholders to resolve technology issues, provide advice and to transfer knowledge.
  • Other - Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBC\'s mission, vision and values. Support internal audits involving the applications. Maintain and review application user access controls and process. Support and complete ad hoc analysis and report requests as required. As required, this role may also need to provide management support of other business projects or platforms/applications depending on workload, team complement and business priorities.
Who You Are
  • You have experience (3+ years) in Business and/or Commercial Banking.
  • You have strong business acumen and the ability to pick up complex technical concepts easily
  • You have strong time management skills. You have the ability to plan, coordinate and execute a number of tasks in a concurrent manner while achieving timely conclusion
  • You are self-motivated, with the ability to operate independently.
  • You are client focused, with both internal and external clients
  • You have strong communication skills. You have good interpersonal and teaming skills sufficient to interact with groups and individuals at various levels. You have strong communication and presentation skills to prepare material and deliver user training. You have the ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation. You have the ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.
  • Business Process Definition and Development. You use knowledge of business processes to define and document business requirements and application scenarios.
  • Requirements Analysis. You have knowledge of activities, tasks, practices and deliverables associated with eliciting and clearly defining and documenting required business functionality as well as information requirements.
  • Relationship Management. You have the ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, vendors and peers.
  • Problem Solving. You have knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking. You have knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
