What you\'ll be doing

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be joining CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s Direct Financial Services in Capital Markets. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be at the heart of CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple back-end systems.

As an Application Consultant, you will be responsible for:

Developing Automation Pipelines - Collaborating with the team to design develop, and implement automation solutions using tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker/Kubernetes/Helm, and GitHub Actions.

Continuous Integration - Assist in building and maintaining continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to cover both our On-Prem and Cloud services to enable efficient and reliable software delivery. This includes utilizing tools such as Github Actions to automate code checks, testing, and deployment processes.

Monitoring and Alerting - Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement by implementing effective monitoring and alerting pipelines.

How You\xe2\x80\x99ll Succeed

Design and Development - Lead API design by analyzing business requirements and following system architecture and high-level design. Lead API development following the right design patterns and best practices. Be good at coding complex system and business logic in an effective way. Be good at modern development concepts and processes, both understanding and practice.

Continuous Improvement - Be the advocate for continuous improvement in both process efficiency and effectiveness, as well as development best practices that ensure quality of work. Be able to bring a positive influence to the team you work with. Staying up to date with latest industry trends, tools, and tech in the DevOps domain to share knowledge within the teams is an asset.

Operational Efficiency - Lead next level support for operational activities. Be good at problem solving, troubleshooting and have sound understanding of performance tuning

Mentorship - Be able to coach junior developers in the team and provide technical guidance.

Who You Are

You can demonstrate experience using Git (Version control), Web Services (JSON and RESTFul). Proven and solid hands-on experience with Linux systems. 1+ years of scripting experience using languages such as Bash or Python. Familiar with Object Oriented Programing and Paradigms
It is an asset if you have experience with banking application development. Additionally, if you have experience with:

Java

Spring/Spring boot

Node (JavaScript / TypeScript)

Relational and Non-Relation DB (NoSQL, MongoDB)

Cloud environments (Azure) and Containerization (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
