Estimator

At Powerline Plus ltd. we focus on three main operations, Electrical, Civil Construction and Engineering & Design. Powerline Group Ltd. provides quality solutions to public utilities, municipalities and developers, as well as to industrial, national and international manufacturing companies across the GTA.

JOB OVERVIEW

Estimators at Powerline Plus Ltd., are involved in activities related to civil and electrical project estimates and take-offs. This individual must be an effective learner who is highly motivated as well as dedicated to work both independently and with direction from others. Estimators maintain ongoing relations with co-workers and management in all departments.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

A degree, certificate or diploma from college or university in drafting, computer aided design, or similar Utility knowledge considered an asset Proficiency in Microsoft Office

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Estimator role includes but not limited to the following duties

:

Follow standards, regulations, established rules, common practices, and whitespace management guidelines. Preform Query Checks, Validation, and Conflict Detection/Resolution Prepare / submit change requests on demand Review electrical utility design drawings and takeoffs (including labour and material quantities) for submission to the client Interact with the design team and members of the construction team to verify the accuracy of the takeoff and address any deficiencies Understand and comprehend existing RFP labour units and material Conduct relevant administrative tasks as required
