Job Description

Can-Traffic Services Ltd. is looking for a leader to manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems. The role includes supervising crews, coordinating projects, ensuring safety compliance, mentoring staff, resolving technical issues, and maintaining documentation, with a strong focus on leadership, quality, and safety.

What you will do everyday

Supervise and coordinate multiple crews through Foremen, ensuring work aligns with project plans, schedules, and budgets. Mentor and support Foremen and staff to develop skills, teamwork, and accountability. Liaise with Construction Manager, City staff, contractors, and residents regarding project updates, issues, or changes. Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and regulations. Resolve on-site issues including scheduling conflicts, material shortages, or equipment problems. Enforce health and safety policies and investigate incidents as needed. Maintain project records, reports, and documentation to support management oversight.

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost and quality control, and engineering drawings. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated experience developing and mentoring teams. Physically capable of performing construction-related tasks and working in varying weather conditions. Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, or out-of-town as required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, BIS Safety, GIS, and spreadsheets.

Qualifications Needed

Journeyman Electrician with a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is considered an asset. Project Management Certificate is an asset. Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake (Q) endorsement. Leadership in Safety Excellence (LSE) certification.
