Overview

Alberco Construction Ltd, leaders in bridge and water infrastructure construction, is accepting applications for a

Site Superintendent to manage the Earthworks component of a bridge project in Athabasca.

Alberco offers a small business atmosphere with high-performance capabilities. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, strong subtrade management ability, and in-depth understanding of earthworks construction processes and methodologies.

General Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Proficient management of all aspects of construction site activities including: project planning, scheduling, cost control and ordering materials Supervise daily operations and labor on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers to ensure project milestones are met. Review schematics and blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements. Utilize construction management software. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality control measures. Manage project budgets, including estimating costs and controlling expenses throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and team members, regarding project status and any issues that arise. Ensure the health and safety program is followed on site Prepare timely reports as required, on project progress, challenges, and solutions for upper management review.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry.

Minimum of 5 years in the role of supervising Earthworks projects Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations. Experience in Earthworks and general heavy civil concrete work. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics; familiarity with construction best practices. Competent using computers and construction management software. Experience with quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship. Excellent organizational skills and tome management skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts effectively. Ability to lead and work as part of a team - inspire team work. Ability to create an equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment. Ability to receive feedback gracefully and give feedback effectively.
