Carrier Mausoleums Construction (CMC Canada) is a canadian construction company renowned for delivering unique, high-quality projects across North America. As we expand, we are seeking talented individuals who are eager to grow with us. We are currently looking for a Superintendent to work in the GTA for our current and upcoming mausoleums projects. Our upcoming project is more precisely located in North York, ON.
Your mandate:
As part of the construction team and under the direction of the Ontario General Superintendent, you will work in collaboration with the various teams and subcontractors on the different worksites for CMC . It implies, among others, to lead and manage the delivery of buildings to be constructed in one worksite, to manage simultaneously CMC employees & subcontractors of different trades involved in the construction' sequence. Finally, you will also have to take charge of scheduling our project's different phases of construction according to OSHA regulations in place and to do everything to avoid injuries and accidents on your worksite.
Key Responsabilities
Worksite management
oEnsure physical organization and cleanliness of worksite
oRead, analyze and ensure compliance with plans and specifications
oCoordinate inspections by various professionals (soil engineers, building inspectors, etc.)
oEnsure compliance with work schedules, deadlines and production objectives
oDeliver compliant, quality jobsites on schedule
oOrganize and direct daily meetings with foremen or subcontractors related to operations
oControl the supply and safe storage of materials, equipment and tools
oEnsure conformity and quality of work, materials and products in order to accelerate the release of holdbacks on contracts
oComplete required reports
oParticipate in work planning with the project manager
oEnsure that company policies and procedures are followed by all team members
oAll other related tasks
Personnel Management
o
Effectively manage the site, foremen, survey crew, subcontractors and site personnel.
oParticipate sporadically in the recruitment of personnel
oPromote and ensure compliance with the safety program among staff and participate in improvement measures.
oEncourage performance, good working relationships, respect and team spirit.
Required Knowledge and Skills
oAt least 5 years 'experience as a commercial/industrial Superintendent
oMinimum 10 years of experience as a Carpenter Foreman, Concrete Finisher or an equivalent Trade
oESSENTIAL: Strong framing skills, experience with concrete formwork, placing, and finishing are all essentials to the position
oASSET: Experience with recent technology in worksite management systems - notably ProCore
oASSET: Experienced with multi-million dollar construction projects, as well as smaller ones
oIntermediate proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
oComfort with regular administrative IT tool like MS Office (Outlook, Excel & Word)
oExcellent organizational and prioritization skills
oFamiliarity with regulations specific to various trades.
oValid health and safety training for construction job sites (WHMIS, Working at Heights, etc.).
oKnowledge of and adherence to safety standards through OHSA training and practical experience.
oValid driver's license.
oCarpenter certification considered an asset.
