Job Description

A Construction Project Manager is a professional who leads and oversees a construction project, and works with Engineers and Architects to develop a plan, create a project time frame, distribute resources, and ensure timely completion. Their duties include planning, hiring, firing, and supervising employees.Project Manager\'s Main Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Oversees total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
• Responsible for overall project performance and reporting in areas including, but not limited to safety, cost/budget, schedule, quality and project status
• Assists the project superintendent and field workforce to establish and maintain our strong safety culture and environmental programs
• Monitors project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, safety and environment, and quality control
• Conducts site tours, including safety inspections
• Lead by example to ensure policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
• Mentors, coaches, supervises and assesses performance of direct reports and other team members
• Oversees project closeout

• 8 - 10 years progressive construction experience in a project management position
• Completed full cycle projects on Retail and Restaurant renovation projects.
• Experience in Retail renovations projects valued at $1M
• Post-secondary diploma in a construction related discipline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of different construction methods, sequencing, potential problems, and timelines
• Familiar with project management and estimating software programs
• Strong knowledge of trades and ability to read drawings
• knowledge of Microsoft tools including, word and excel
