Job Description

Fort Sands Construction is seeking a skilled and certified Rope Access Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience working at height in a construction or building maintenance environment, with strong knowledge of rope access safety procedures and equipment. This position plays a key role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of building exteriors, including tasks like cladding, envelope repairs, window and facade work, and structural inspections--using rope access techniques.

Key Responsibilities

o Perform rope access operations in accordance with industry's best practices and safety standards (SPRAT/IRATA).

o Execute building envelope repairs, exterior construction tasks, window and facade work at heights.

o Read and interpret technical drawings, scopes of work, and manufacturer specifications.

o Work safely with power tools, hand tools, and rigging equipment in elevated environments.

o Complete work in a timely, efficient manner while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

o Maintain and inspect rope, access gear and safety equipment regularly.

o Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and other tradespeople on-site.

Qualifications

o Valid SPRAT (Level I, II, or III) or IRATA Certification (required).

o Experience in construction, building envelope work, window installation, or exterior maintenance preferred.

o Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety regulations related to rope access and fall protection.

o Fall Protection, First Aid (Standard or Emergency), and CSTS-2020 certifications required.

o Comfortable working at height in a physically demanding environment and in varying weather conditions.

o Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

o Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$35.00 per hour
