POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager will be crucial in planning, executing, and delivering projects within scope, budget, and schedule. This position requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage cross-functional teams and ensure project success.

THE ROLE - PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

• Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate projects according to schedule, specifications, and budget
• Understand project plans and specifications to drive successful execution
• Develop and monitor construction schedules and milestones, proactively addressing changes or delays
• Prepare and issue progress reports and schedules to clients
• Track quality and progress of work performed by design disciplines and trades
• Hire, supervise, and manage the activities of sub-consultants, subcontractors and project staff
• Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, providing clear direction, support, and guidance.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to foster effective communication and collaboration.
• Draft and issue project proposals, tenders, budgets, and preliminary schedules
• Oversee procurement activities, including bid analysis, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve project issues proactively
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, sub-trades, and suppliers
• Coordinate and communicate contract changes with the Superintendent
• Implement quality control programs and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Ensure client needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Review contractor quotations to ensure fair and reasonable pricing
• Issue and track project documentation, including contracts, letters of intent, and purchase orders
• Manage change notices and orders using project scheduling and control tools
• Effectively communicate project updates with clients and internal teams
• Provide insights for process improvements within the company
• Oversee pricing of change orders, requests for information, and coordination of shop drawings
• Review and track field inspection reports from consultants throughout the project lifecycle
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project processes and outcomes.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to analyze successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of construction management and/or general contracting experience on projects up to $10M
• Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Architecture, Trade Professional or equivalent experience
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
• Experience with construction management contracts
• Proficiency in Autodesk Cloud is an asset
• Valid Class 5 Driver's license and vehicle with the ability to pass police check/security clearance (required for some projects).

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk
• Able to lift 20 kg
• Occasionally required to work outside in varying weather conditions
• PPE Requirements: Gloves, Hard Hat, Safety Footwear, Coveralls, Reflective vet

Pay: $90,000.00-$130,000.00 per year

SCHEDULE:

• Office
• Site visits as required.
