What You Will Do
Responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to data center infrastructure, including but not limited to new builds, expansions, renovations, and migrations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data center infrastructure, project management methodologies, and excellent communication skills.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
Effectively communicate with and manage expectations of various stakeholders, including internal teams (engineering, operations, IT), vendors, and contractors. Build strong relationships and foster collaboration.
Select, negotiate with, and manage vendors and contractors to ensure they meet project requirements, quality standards, and deadlines.
Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and forecast potential cost overruns. Implement cost-control measures as needed.
Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks. Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
Ensure all projects are executed in compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. PMP certification. 5 years of experience in project management, specifically within the data center industry. A combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Skills and Abilities
Demonstrate a strong understanding of data center infrastructure components, including power systems, cooling systems, IT equipment, networking, and security systems.
Proven ability to develop and execute project plans, manage budgets, and track progress.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify and resolve project issues effectively.
Experience with data center design and construction.
Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Ability to work independently and consistently achieve results
Experience in large, complex construction projects
