Job Summary
The Project Estimator Coordinator role requires a background in construction estimating and familiarity with Procore software. The candidate must have a strong understanding of construction procedures, materials, and the PEI Building Code, and be able to interpret construction drawings and specifications. Responsibilities include assisting with project closeout, estimating changes to contracts, maintaining project document control, assisting the Superintendent with operational tasks, implementing and monitoring Quality and Safety Plans, preparing purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders, and performing various administrative tasks. The candidate will also assist the Estimating team when required, coordinate with team members to ensure project goals are met, and conduct regular site visits. Qualifications include knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, credentials in Construction Management, Project Management, Estimating, Engineering, Business Admin, or equivalent experience, over 2 years of project coordination experience, over 1 year of experience estimating construction projects, ability to manage multiple project schedules, attention to detail, effective communication skills, ability to handle pressure, strong knowledge of building codes and construction standards.
Job Duties
  • Project Monitoring
  • Implementation of Procore software.
  • Strong knowledge of construction procedures, materials, and the PEI Building Code.
  • Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications, city codes and ordinances regarding building codes, permit issuance, and permit fees.
  • Assist with overall project closeout.
  • Quantifying and estimating changes to contract.
  • Assist in maintaining project document control including daily reports, RFIs, shop drawings, changes.
  • Assists Superintendent with operational tasks including preparation of work plans and packages, scheduling updates, updating drawings, and supervision of subcontractor operations.
  • Implementing and monitoring Quality and Safety Plans, including participation in job site safety reviews, and safety training.
  • Assists in the preparation of purchase orders, subcontracts, and generation of change orders.
  • Problem-Solving: When issues arise, coordinators troubleshoot and find solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as but not limited to printing, copying, scanning, arranging for couriers, purchasing supplies and materials, etc.
  • Where required, assist Estimating team with project-specific tender and estimating.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and communicate with project team.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Familiar with PROCORE.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel required.
  • Credentials in Construction Management, Project Management, Estimating, Engineering, Business Admin or combined education and industry experience.
  • Over 2 years of proven project coordination success coordinating residential, commercial/industrial construction projects.
  • Over 1 years of experience estimating custom residential, commercial/industrial construction projects.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in meeting deadlines and managing multiple project schedules simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to pressure situations with a calm demeanor and a high sense of urgency.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and construction standards.
  • In-Depth understanding of construction procedures, and materials.
  • A background in dealing with clients and stakeholders would be an asset.
