Jacobs Technology Group is a performance unit of the Jacobs Critical Mission Solutions (CMS) Line of Business. The Jacobs CMS Technology Group specializes in the design, construction, and operation of unique and complex research and development facilities, including, as examples, wind tunnels (aerospace, automotive, and motorsports), rocket test stands, climatic chambers, jet engine test cells, acoustic chambers, altitude test facilities, captive trajectory systems, and nuclear facilities.

Our projects span the automotive, motorsports, defense, nuclear, and aerospace markets. Recent clients include Audi, Boeing, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Honda, General Motors, Stellantis, NASA, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Department of Energy, Volkswagen, and many others in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Jacobs is in search of a Construction Project Engineer for the Windsor, Canada and Kokomo, Indiana facilities. The project engineer will work with the engineering team responsible for the construction of Automotive Battery Facilities

BRIEF OUTLINE OF SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand, communicate and exemplify Corporate Core Values and Safety directives.
  • Liaison between contractors, design engineers, & owners\xe2\x80\x99 team
  • Support code and engineering drawing reviews.
  • Develop project execution plan and delegate appropriately.
  • Quantify major work activities and evaluate progress.
  • Develop project schedule and incorporate changes with an emphasis on mitigating impacts.
  • With an emerging project problem, lead the team in developing a recovery plan.
  • Develop and lead the VA/VE process.
  • Manage development of complete bid packages to include thorough scopes of work.
  • Oversee project specification review.
  • With Engineering, lead the project drawing review for completeness and constructability.
  • Establish and maintain an open issues matrix and lead the team to resolutions
Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, or Architecture from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience
  • Demonstrated competence in technical discipline field(s) and knowledge of company policies practices (code reviews, engineering drawing reviews, and a good understanding of facility construction).
  • Must be knowledgeable of building related systems and equipment
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and good communication skills are required.
  • LEED accreditation Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • Skilled in Outlook, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD (basic)
  • Good team working and listening skills
  • Dynamic mindset to propose new ideas and follow the flow of the work
  • Strong communication skills

\xc2\xb7 Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have the flexibility of work days to cover weekend testing requirements.

Other Essential Functions
  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check.
  • Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers.
  • Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Dependable personal transportation to the work site is required.
